Duties include but are not limited to:
Know all lobby and garage posts.
Attend all monthly and required training courses.
Prepare and write incident reports for any incidents that occur.
Review all incident reports for content and grammar
Respond to incidents/alarm activations and provide access control for the building.
Pass on information to your relief.
Be available to assist with extra shift coverage.
Report your daily activities to your supervisor.
Maintain proper chain of command.
We are looking for a motivated individual to be part of our team. Security officers are the eyes and ears of the building. They must maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times. Officers on this account are tasked with ensuring the safety and security of the people, property, and assets of the client site. Officers do this through enforcement of access control procedures, detecting problems or incidents, deterring criminal activity and effectively responding to incidents and emergency situations. Officers must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing to ensure incidents are responded to and reported in a timely and effective manner. Officers must be team players who have the desire to learn and grow in their positions.
Security Officer Basic Qualifications:
* Must be at least 18 years of age or older as required by applicable law or contractual requirements.
* Must have a high school diploma or GED, or at least 10 years of verifiable employment history.
* At least one verifiable employer.
* No criminal convictions as specified under AlliedBarton guidelines.
* Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing in the English language for the purpose of public interaction and report writing.
* Authorized to work in the United States.
* Ability to perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
* Negative result on pre-employment drug screen.
* Successful completion of AlliedBarton's Security Officer Basic Course exam.
* Ability to maintain satisfactory attendance and punctuality standard.
* Neat and professional appearance.
* Friendly and professional demeanor.
* Ability to provide quality customer service.
* Ability to handle typical and crisis situations efficiently and effectively at client site.
Requirements:
Computer Skills - Microsoft Word, Excel, General computer knowledge is preferred
Must be ability to work with video systems
Must have or be able to obtain a NYS Security Guard License and pass all company background and drug tests
Must be able to pass a fingerprint check
Excellent communication skills, including written communication, spelling & grammar
Flexible schedule/ be willing to fill-in for open positions
Must be in good standing with AlliedBarton Security Services
Must have reliable transportation
Positive attitude
Ability to be a team player/maintain a positive leadership role in the buildingMust maintain First Aid/CPR Certification
