This position will have primary functional responsibility for customer service requests, alarm monitoring and security dispatch. The Dispatcher is an integral part of the security department operations on a shift basis. The security operations control center is designed to be the central and primary element of the security program that provides support to business locations and personnel. This position will coordinate all relevant information for processing and distribution, utilizing all of the tools and processes implemented in the program and will dispatch and direct field personal as required responding to alarms, customer service requirements or any other operational issue. The SOC Operator will be the central and primary point of command for the security operations business providing quality of services to the internal and external client communities.
The SOC Operator will be primarily responsible for the effective and efficient management of all alarms received by the SOC. This includes, but is not limited to: access control system alarm points, code blue alarms, duress alarms, alarms received via radio, cell phone or land line and alarms received from the community (i.e. natural disaster alarms, etc.). This responsibility includes the receipt, dispatch of responders, management of responder performance, disposition of alarm condition, documentation and dissemination of information.
The SOC Operator will also be primarily responsible for the effective and efficient processing of all customer service requests. The SOC Operator will effectively utilize all security tools and processes, as well as other communication devices to process and distribute all customer requests by utilizing the highest quality response processes implemented by the security organization.
The SOC Operator will be primarily responsible for the effective and efficient processing of all information relevant to the security operations business. This will include, but is not limited to: effective distribution of all phone calls received, effective distribution of all information received via electronic means (email, intranet, automated service requests, etc.), allocation and assignment of information to the appropriate department or individual and effective documentation of information received and processed. The SOC Operator will be responsible for ensuring that all information, regardless of its nature, is received, processed and documented in a high quality, effective and efficient manner.
The SOC Operator will be primarily responsible for the effective performance of tasks associated with the operation of all security tools and processes within the SOC. This includes but is not limited to: security access control systems, CCTV systems, alarm management systems, customer service database systems, company email and communications devices.
The SOC Operator will be a key contributor to the security operations team in the event of a crisis situation that would threaten the safe and secure business operations. This could include, but is not limited to: natural disasters, workplace violence, facility emergencies, fire and issues of serious injury or illness.
The qualified candidate will have a minimum of 1 year of experience in a supervisory role, supervising the performance of team members in a high demand, customer service environment. The qualified candidate should have an associated degree, or equivalent level of experience. The qualified candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in the security operations industry and have proven skills in a security operations center environment. The qualified candidate must possess strong computer skills and demonstrate the ability to effectively operate and manage security tools and processes. Systems include, but are not limited to: security access control, CCTV & alarm systems, email, intranet systems and complex communication device systems. The qualified candidate must possess strong communication skills in both the written and verbal format, in all delivery formats (i.e. in person, via telephone, via radio, etc.).
